Cinder House Wood-Fired Burgers
Cinder House is a wood-fired burger concept focused on creating a cohesive takeout experience. This project features a custom-designed food box with an organized interior layout for a burger, fries, drink, and sauces. The design includes an integrated drink holder for a 12oz can and a built-in sauce compartment, reducing the need for separate packaging. Branding is applied across the box, soda can, and sauce labels using a warm, fire-inspired color palette. This project balances functionality and visual identity, turning everyday takeout packaging into a more thoughtful and unified experience.
Process
This project took a lot of trial and error to get right, especially when it came to measurements. Since the box needed to hold a burger, fries, a drink, and sauces all in one place, I spent a lot of time adjusting dimensions to make everything fit without feeling cramped or wasting space.
I also went through multiple iterations of the internal structure, creating four different cutout systems for things like the drink holder and sauce holder. Each version helped me figure out what worked best in terms of stability and layout, and how everything could fit together without getting in the way.
One of my main goals was to combine the drink into the box instead of using a separate carrier. Designing that holder took a few tries, but it ended up becoming one of the strongest parts of the project.
At one point, I experimented with adding a zipper tear-open feature, but I ended up removing it since the box already closes tightly and opens easily. Keeping it simple made more sense for the overall design.
